Botox ® in West Windsor, NJ
Board-certified New Jersey otolaryngologist Dr. Scott Kay, FACS, offers Botox® injections to the residents of West Windsor, NJ.
What is Botox®?
Botulinum toxin, otherwise known as Botox®, is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure. The injections are used for treating lines and wrinkles brought on by the compression of facial muscles. Botox® injections are composed of a botulism toxin that briefly immobilizes the facial muscles. When the muscles are immobilized, the lines and wrinkles essentially vanish. After some time, some of our Botox® patients utilize those muscles less, making lines and wrinkles less noticeable. Some patients, however, may need routine Botox® treatments for optimal results.
Advantages of Botox®
As an insignificantly intrusive treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, Botox® offers numerous advantages:
- Non-surgical treatment to target progressive lines and wrinkles.
- Treatment takes under 60 minutes.
- No recuperation or rest required.
- Suitable for lines and wrinkles on the brow, between the eyes and lips.
How is Botox® Administered?
Botox® is injected using a fine gauge needle. The needle is normally tinier than what is used for vaccinations. Most patients experience no pain during the procedure. On the off chance you do experience discomfort, the area can be treated with a topical anesthesia. Treatment shouldn’t take any longer than an hour.
