Botox® in Princeton and Monroe, NJ
The most obvious signs of aging appear on your forehead, brow, and mouth area. If you have lines and wrinkles in these areas, Botox® injections may be right for you. Call our Central New Jersey area office today to schedule your Botox® treatments with board-certified New Jersey otolaryngologist Dr. Scott Kay, FACS. Our practice serves patients throughout the neighboring communities of Princeton, Monroe and Plainsboro.
What is Botox®?
Botox® is one of the most popular injectable anti-aging treatments. The injections are recommended for treating dynamic lines and wrinkles that are caused by the contraction of your facial muscles. Botox® injections are formulated with a botulism toxin that temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles. When the muscles relax, the lines and wrinkles simply disappear. Over time, some of our Botox® patients use those muscles less, so the lines and wrinkles are less visible. Most patients, though, require ongoing Botox® treatments for best results.
Benefits of Botox®
As a minimally invasive injectable treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, Botox® offers many benefits.
- Non-surgical treatment to target dynamic lines and wrinkles
- Treatment takes less than one hour
- No recovery or downtime
- Appropriate for lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyes and around the mouth
How is Botox® Administered?
Botox® is administered with a very fine gauge needle. The needle is typically smaller than what is used for your immunizations. Most patients feel little to nothing during the injections. If you do experience discomfort, we can treat the area with a topical anesthesia. Dr. Kay injects Botox® into specific facial muscles that cause your lines and wrinkles. Treatment normally takes 30 to 60 minutes.
Preparing for Botox®
Botox® treatments are quick and easy. When you are ready for a Botox® treatment, please call our office to schedule an appointment. We can also schedule your follow-up treatments four to six months after your initial treatment.
Botox® Recovery
Most patients have no symptoms after their Botox® treatments. In rare cases, though, patients experience tenderness, redness, mild swelling, and bruising. The symptoms are localized around the injection sites.
How Much Does Botox® Cost?
Botox® treatments are safe and effective for most men and women. The number of injections does vary, so the cost of your Botox® injections depends on your treatment plan. The cost of your Botox® injections is determined after your consultation with Dr. Kay. We accept most major credit cards, cash and personal checks, as well as CareCredit® should you want to finance your treatments.
Is Botox® Right for Me?
Botox® treatments are recommended for men and women who are in good health and have realistic expectations of the treatments. Botox® is not a permanent anti-aging solution, so you will need follow-up treatments to maintain the results.
Why Choose Princeton Otolaryngology Associates for Botox®?
As a board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Scott Kay is specially trained in the structures of your face and neck. His knowledge and expertise of these anatomical areas means that he knows which muscles to target with your Botox® injections. You feel confident in your treatments knowing that each injection is perfectly placed and necessary.
What to Expect During Your Consultation for Botox®
The first step in reducing your lines and wrinkles is to determine the cause. Botox® is not effective for lines and wrinkles that are caused by sun damage or loose skin. Dr. Kay examines your skin to determine if you have dynamic lines and wrinkles. He then develops a treatment plan that includes the number of Botox® injections and frequency of follow-up treatments.
You may not need surgery to reduce the signs of aging. Botox® injections treat some of the most common types of lines and wrinkles.
