Botox ® in Monroe, NJ
Board-certified New Jersey otolaryngologist Dr. Scott Kay, FACS, offers Botox® injections to the residents of Monroe, NJ.
What is a Botox® Injection?
Botox® is a popular anti-aging injectable treatment. It is usually recommended for treating lines or wrinkles caused by facial-muscle contractions. The injections are made with a botulism toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles in the injected area. This causes them to relax, which in turn causes the wrinkles or lines to disappear. Sometimes, Botox® patients begin using these troublesome muscles less, which helps reduce lines and wrinkles over time. Others will require ongoing Botox injections to keep up with the results.
The Benefits of Botox®
Botox® is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that targets fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® also offers these benefits:
- Non-surgical treatment options
- Targets dynamic wrinkles and lines
- Treatment takes less than an hour
- No downtime
- Useable on forehead, between the eyes and near mouth
Administering Botox® Injections
Botox® is injected using a very fine needle. This needle is usually smaller than those used in immunization shots. Most patients feel no or little pain during the process. If you should feel any pain, a topical anesthesia is available. Dr. Kay will inject the Botox® into highly-targeted muscles. The treatment usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
